…and there were no issues!
On November 6, 2019, our shipment of hemp flower was stopped on Interstate 80 in Wyoming. Our driver updated us immediately, stating that he was literally shaking in his boots when the trooper approached. With the strong smell of hemp filling the air, who knows what this trooper would assume!
Our carrier updated us by saying:
“Driver was stopped by highway patrol for checking in Wyoming. They are checking the ppw and the freight with previous approval of consignee. Right now the driver is waiting on their decision but actually looks like everything is fine.” They said.
“They will give him ppw that freight was checked and it’s safety to be transported to consignee. Will keep you posted”
Rest assured, everything went smooth. Our driver gave the trooper his paperwork that we provided. The trooper called the shipper, consignee and lab to verify all the information. After he verified it all, he let our guy go. Only stating that he had to double check and was sorry for the delay. The trooper said they never really know whether it is hemp or cannabis! As long as all the information and documents check out, then we will have no issues.
We received another notification from the dispatcher at 8:04 PM stating:
“everything is fine, he is rolling to DEL location.”
This just goes to show how important it is for all documents to be checked and double checked! If we were missing anything, then that trooper would have taken our shipment and probably detained our driver.
